24 years

I turned 24 last month, and so I've decided to write 24 of my fondest memories through this life! Don't worry, this is more for me than it is anyone else!
1. By far, my favorite expeience was the moment I delivered tragan and they placed him on my stomach. That moment was miraculous for me! I had never felt such pure love and joy!
2. When I FINALLY got pregnant with McKenna. It was a long journey getting her here, and she helped fulfill our little family!
3. Receiving our endowments together, and to see our family with open arms in the celestial room was a moment I greatly cherish, and look forward to experiencing again in the next life.
4. Kenny's surprise home from Iraq when I wasn't expecting him! So many emotions!
5. Our wedding day!
6. Christmas Eve 2007. Cameron and I stayed up late to put together tragans pirate ship. We don't get much time together alone laughing, and talking now that we are adults. That was a fond memory of us together.
7. Family drives to california when we were little. Waking up when its still dark and hitting the road. So many 'weezing' laughable moments in the car together!
8. I don't remember what year, I believe I was in elementary school. My dad was working in the attic and fell through the cieling almost falling down the stairs! So funny! (But not for him I'm sure!)
9. Before my grandpa Pops died, when we would visit with him, anytime he caught me doing something bad he did this hand gesture, shaving the one pointer finger across the other, and saying "shame on you". Fond memory your wondering?? I never felt like he was scolding me, he was giving me the attention I was seeking for! Plus he always winked after he was done, and I knew he loved me:)
10. Christmas growing up, when my dad would complain of putting lights up while my mom decorated the house. And christmas morning when cam and I would sort the presents into everyone's spot.
11.the selling of our first house, and how much we made off of it!
12. Paying off all our debt with the selling money!
13. The buying of our condo in eagle mountian, and all the one on one time my dad and I had together in the process of it.
14. Kenny's return home from iraq. The butterflies and tears as I watched his plane fly in and him step out of it!
15. Singing the national anthem in high school and hearing people cheer for ME. That was the first time I felt like I was a really good singer.
16. Merediths return home from her mission. There is nothing like a reunion at the airport!
17. The cruise my parents took us on in 1999. The beautiful places we were able to see at such a young age, I didn't preciate it then, but I do now! They sacrificed a lot so that we could experience other parts of the world, thank you!
18. EFY, the spirit was so strong there!
19. Oakcrest, I think everyone needs it.
20. Gathering clothes and goods, and delivering them to the homeless shelter with my family. And helping tragan understand how blessed our family is.
21. Sitting around the dinner table and my dad telling us stories of the unbeleivable service he has done for complete strangers. He taught me how important service is, and how to be selfless.
22.reading all four twilight books with kenny after the kids went to bed. There is something about the quiet house and reading to your spouse that was so fun for us!
23. Tragan and McKennas baby blessings.
24. When kenny proposed:)

Too Cute

Fire station Field trip

On Wednesday, Tragan and I were able to have a little date day and go with his preschool to the fire station. Tragan was really excited all week and highly enjoyed the trip. Although he was really shy of the fire men in their gear, he seemed to really enjoy the big trucks.

The fire man that was talking to the class was getting a little too complicated for these 4 and 5 year olds in his explanations. Which he soon noticed when the kids decided he was a bit boring, so they needed some excitement and loudly yelled out what they all wanted to be for halloween. It started with one boy and in came the domino effect. The fire man sat back and laughed and soon recognized who he was talking to! It was a cute trip. Even I learned something: Did you know there is a difference between a Fire Engine and a Fire Truck? I didn't....and still don't know what the difference is, because I didn't ask! Grandma Great, do you know? Considering you were married to a Fire man? Let us know! Love you lots!

And yeah, I just realized Tragan is picking his butt in that picture....sorry!

Our new home!

Sorry it has taken me so long to post pictures of our new house. I've been busy on the yard and unloading boxes. Not to mention the big fiasco when McKenna fell with a popsicle stick and it went in her eye. Miserable girl, it broke my heart! I wrote that post last week but the computer froze... so I will get to that another time! Anyway, we are adoring the house, it seems so perfect for us! And the neighborhood and ward are fantastic. We definitely feel like it is meant to be. We have been so blessed! I will post inside pictures when it is fully decorated, or you can just come by and look yourself! Hope you all are doing well and had a great summer!

Mountain outing

A month or so ago we went on a drive up the beautiful American Fork canyon and found a cute little place to have lunch and a nice walk. The kids of course LOVED getting as dirty as possible and climbing up the mountain side. It was a gorgeous day to adore the magnificent nature we are so lucky to live near by. McKenna, of course, attached herself to the first dog in sight! And Tragan was thoroughly enjoying his exploration of nature! I can't wait until we can find some family time to go again!

MOVING!

Well we found a home we absolutely love! We started searching a couple weeks ago and this was only the 4th house we looked at. We wanted to stay here in Pleasant Grove because of 2 reasons: 1- The shop, and 2-I have fallen in love with the mountain side. I don't know that I will be able to live anywhere else now! Anyway, we move in the weekend of the 14th and time is just not moving fast enough! I have already designed the kids rooms, and I can't wait to get my hands in my own garden soil! I only wished we found it in the spring so I could have enjoyed spring blossoms, but I have next year! I promise to post pictures ASAP! I'm extremely giddy and can't pack fast enough! I wish we were moving today!

His poor feet...

Tragan has complained of his feet hurting since he could talk. I always thought it was because he wanted in on the end of the day foot rubs kenny and I swapped. However we don't have time for those much anymore and Tragans complaints of feet aches consisted. Even while he was playing with friends during the day he would seem miserable. Yes, I tried all sorts of shoes. Nothing worked. So we made a visit to the pediotrist. The poor child has 'significantly bad' flat feet. And in his ankles there are two bones that should have about a cenemeter of space between them, and his are overlapping. So he suggested orthotics until he's 6, and then if it has not corrected by then, he needs surgery between ages 6 and 12.

At least he liked the cool feeling of the plaster molding they took of his feet! We'll see how he stands the orthotics in his shoe. I wish I would have taken him to see a doctor earlier! Poor kid! He didn't have a chance it seems, both my side and Kenny's side have bad flat feet. And so it lives on! BLAH!

Parade Madness

It is the most looked forward to week of the year in Pleasant Grove, for me anyway. Strawberry days!! This year my husband announced 2 weeks prior, that he had entered the shop into the parade. And who will prepare and be in charge?? Muah. So the last two weeks have been head spinning stressful with the parade and many other things. But in the end we pulled it off and all survived! Kenny then says to me, "We should do AF Steel days and the Provo parade."

Well he can...

We're Back!!

I'm sorry it has been so long since I posted! It has been a crazy summer here! I broke my camera, and now have a new one so I can post pictures! We have gone to Lagoon, and the strawberry days carnival which were so much fun! And my friend Jenni had the strawberries and cream for the first time! AHH to die for!!

Sunday at the ER

2:00 this afternoon it was nap time. McKenna went down as usual, Kenny was in his usual zombie state for Sunday afternoons, I was tired, and Tragan....was not. Comes down to all of us falling asleep other than Tragan. He meandered into the bathroom, climbed on the counter, and removed a box of Sudafed from the medicine cabinet. Then proceeded to consume 16 pills.
Kenny got up, and caught Tragan with the empty box. Kenny asked why he had it and his reply was that he needed medicine and knew how to get it himself. (Tragan has had strep this week and thought ANY medicine did the trick). Kenny woke me, I called poison control and their reply was to "get him to the ER right now, he could start seizing any minute".(They aren't so great at keeping people calm) We rush to the ER, and the front desk nurse calls out saying "Oh, this is him!"
They put us in a room, check his vitals, and hook him up to a cardio machine. Doctor comes in, checks him and has him drink charcoal. Yes, charcoal. It absorbs the pills so the body doesn't. 2 hours later Tragan is curled in the fetal position screaming his tummy hurts. His heart rate went from high 80's to mid 140's in a matter of minutes. The doctor came in and says "Okay, looks like we've got the symptoms occurring".
He gets the nurse to give him nausea medicine and Tragan wanted nothing to do with it. While the nurse and I are holding him down to give it to him, he vomits 4 times. Remember, he just drank 2 cups of charcoal. So it was a very gory moment. However he sure felt better after wards! 2 1/2 hours after that, when his vitals returned to normal, they released him.
So now we are home, and Tragan is off the wall. The doctor warned us he would be hyper and awake late tonight. Which I think we can handle considering we got naps.
I definitely feel like the worlds worst mom for falling asleep while my 4 year old rummaged through our medicine cupboard. I'm just glad we learn from our mistakes. But not looking forward to the next 20 some odd years to go with this boy and ER visits. What an expensive mistake!
